Police are still looking for a man who attempted to rob a downtown McDonald’s on Tuesday afternoon but ultimately left without any money.The suspect walked into the McDonald’s at 411 S. Broadway at about 1 p.m. and showed a 19-year-old clerk a gun tucked into the waistband of his shorts, Lt. James Espinoza said. Police are combing for clues in a shooting at a home in north-central Wichita late Tuesday night.A 34-year-old man woke up at about 11 p.m. Tuesday to find a stranger standing in his bedroom at a home in the 2200 block of North Piatt, Lt. James Espinoza said. The intruder shot the resident once in the face and then left the house.The victim, though wounded, fetched his 9-year-old son from another bedroom and drove himself to Wesley Medical Center for treatment, Espinoza said.
